Raquel Kirwin
Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD 2014, USA)
Fellowship Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD 2019, USA)
About Raquel
Dr. Raquel Kirwin was raised in the United States, in Jersey City, New Jersey by her parents who had immigrated there from northwestern Spain. After high school, she attended Rutgers University in New Jersey where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and graduated with honors. She then attended New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark College of Engineering, and graduated with a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2009. She was asked to join the prestigious Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society after completing her studies at NJIT.
After having worked in several dental offices during her college years as a dental assistant, she decided to pursue a career in dentistry and obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2014 from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. After graduating from dental school, she moved to Texas to start a one year Advanced Education General Dentistry Residency Program at the Central Texas Veterans Healthcare System in Temple, Texas. The focus of the program was on complex surgical techniques, IV sedation, implant placement, emergency protocol, and treatment of medically compromised patients. After completion of the residency, she was able to obtain her certification and licensure with the state of Texas in IV sedation.
After residency, she moved to Laredo, Texas to work in the public health sector in the underserved areas. Her bilingual ability was particularly helpful when working in Laredo since most of her patients in those underserved areas were Spanish speaking. After leaving Laredo, she continued her service in public health working as a staff dentist at the El Paso Department of Veterans Affairs and later again at the Central Texas Department of Veterans Affairs back in Temple, Texas where she had enjoyed her residency a few years back.
In 2017, Dr. Kirwin decided that she wanted to embark on the journey of operating her own private practice which she owned and operated for over eight years. She continues to build on her clinical skills by taking numerous continuing education courses yearly and then implementing the latest technology and techniques with a focus on individualized care. Her areas of interest are minimally invasive dentistry, laser treatment, orthodontics, and all types of restorative dentistry. In 2025, she moved with her family to Wellington New Zealand following her husband’s job reassignment and is looking forward to this family adventure abroad. Outside of work, Dr. Kirwin loves spending time with her husband Tom of 21 years and her two children Isabel (age 6) and Rocco (age 4). Together they enjoy exploring the beautiful nature and scenery New Zealand has to offer and love spending time at the beach and the botanical gardens.
Dr. Kirwin is a member of The Academy of General Dentistry and has received her Fellowship Award in 2019 and will continue on to obtain her Mastership with the Academy. She also belongs to The American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and the New Zealand Dental Association.

Yvonne
Receptionist
About Yvonne
Yvonne grew up in a multicultural family in Germany. After graduating with a business high school diploma she became a qualified baker, but unfortunately developed a flour allergy. Since Yvonne likes to challenge herself, she still participated in the yearly graduate baking competition and achieved second place.
Looking for a new pursuit in life, Yvonne backpacked through South America, experienced bushcamping in Australia, then ultimately found her home in the beautiful Aotearoa.
Throughout the years she acquired a diverse range of work experience. From making the craziest shapes of bread, driving tractors on vineyards, to customer service, she finally found her place at our reception and is excited to extend her work experience to Dental Assistance.
In her spare time Yvonne enjoys watching all kinds of movies and tv-series. She also likes to read about science and philosophy and improving her eco friendly lifestyle. New Zealand taught her how to convert her old live-to-work life into a more balanced and relaxing attitude to focus on the things she loves like cooking, gardening, crafting and catching up with family and friends.
